Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21 in 1983. She is an American actor best known for her character Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV series Lost. The couple had separated and she relocated with her mother to Los Angeles. Although she was struggling financially, her 2001 debut was as Rachel's Room's primary character. The actress was able to secure an Young Artist Award nomination in 2002, for her role as 15-year-old murder victim Martha Moxley in the television movie Murder which aired in Greenwich. Grace Rutherford, a role she played in Lost from 2004 to 2005 was nominated for an Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace was forced to quit the series to pursue a film career. The actress had been on the show with Tom Welling opposite in The Fog earlier in the year 2005. After several commercially successful films in 2006 such as World Trade Center she received greater recognition for her performance as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). In recognition of her role as the single mom in Crazy Heart (2009) she received a nomination for Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She then played in comedies and dramas such as Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012 Her other roles includes Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013, action thriller) and actors in Frank (2014 Drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018) as well as her role as the Kindergarten teacher. Gyllenhaal began her professional career as a screenwriter, director and writer in the year 2021, when she directed and wrote the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter. The film was awarded Best Screenplay at the Venice International Film Festival, and was later nominated by the Academy Award.
